Since you last heard from me, I’ve been…
Still recovering (turns out healing from two surgeries in three months is not a straight trajectory 🙃)
Sleeping (this has been a #1 priority over the past year, and I feel like I’m finally starting to feel the result — it’s kind of life changing?)
Presenting at a conference on one of my favorite marketing strategies
Passing the year-mark of service on a board
Co-hosting a summer book club
Reading for two book clubs
Growing a messy, wild garden (and learning to love my evening watering sessions)
Making yogurt (Third time was a charm! This was an expensive learning curve!)
Watching my baby brother get married
Building a pop-up bar for another conference
Settling into a consistent morning rhythm (Gua Sha, meditation, workout)
Walking
Resting
Getting to the farmer’s market most weekends
Trying to figure out how to spend less on groceries will still satiating two (three) very hungry boys
Entering my favorite chocolate chip cookie in a baking contest at work (I’ve been baking this one since I was pregnant with Orion and had a subscription to Every Day Food RIP)
Celebrating my kids (Orion finished 8th grade; Pan wrapped his freshman year of high school with straight A’s — his first time getting graded on that scale after a lifetime of Waldorf 🥹)
Coordinating two separate volunteer crews for Pickathon’s family neighborhood
Finding shady spots to read my book at Pickathon 😂
Recovering from a 3-week sprint of back-to-back big lifts: a whirlwind trip to San Diego for my brother’s wedding, a huge work event, Pickathon (and being kind of shocked at how long it took for my body to feel normal again)
And… working on a refresh of this space for us!
The next time you hear from me, things will look a little different. The newsletter will have a new name and design. It’s been in the works for many months, and I’m excited to share it with you.
See you on the other side!
Thank you for the update. You have a rich and interesting life.
